| | This purpose of this article is to explain how to send a raw Ethernet packet using C# on a Microsoft platform. A raw Ethernet packet is the complete Layer 2 network frame that is sent to the physical wire. Sending a frame like this allows you to manipulate the target and source MAC addresses and the Layer 3 protocol fields. |

This article describes how I created a custom Web Part which i could then import into sharepoint. |

| | First of all, what is a hotspot? A hotspot is just a place where if you click, something happens. The idea behind this is you click on a particular part of your wallpaper and something opens. This is, of course, without using HTML or Active Desktop. This can be done with shortcuts or any other object that has its own icon, and it doesn't just call from something like c:\windows\system\shell32.dll (although those can be changed if you're willing to make the change global). |

| Welcome to the exciting world of modem optimization. What? Why would you want to "optimize" your modem? I'll tell you why! Windows comes configured for optimal performance on LAN connections. This means that although your modem will work perfectly fine, it will not run with maximum efficiency, and will waste time on actions which can be optimized or even skipped upon. |

Glad we got that cleared up. |

| Native Windows programming, aside from games programming is possibly the most challenging field of programming there is. (Does that say much for the inventors of the API!) Heres the first steps to accessing that API using the Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) |
|

 |
| |
| |
| | In our last adventure with MFC, we never actually accessed any classes directly, or wrote much code, today I’m going to demonstrate how easy it is to make something mildly useful without knowing the libraries inside out. |
|
| |
| |
 |
| |
| |
| In certain types of applications (ie: paint apps) its important to know what the user is doing with the mouse, in regards to clicking and movement, to do this MFC uses the same principle as win32, handlers. MFC however allows us to associate code with events a lot easier than win32 does. |

 |
| |
| |
| First of all, make sure both of your network cards are installed correctly, and that you have the right sort of network cable. Your going to have to make a floppy disk that has netsetup on it from the Windows XP box, which can be found by going into networking from the desktop, then clicking the set up home network icon on the left hand side of the screen. |

| | There's currently a lot of buzz around WTL within the development community, mainly because no one knows what the bugger it is or what its supposed to do, the cynical amongst the dev community have labeled it MFC v2, that's probably not far off, considering what a kludge MFC is, it's not unreasonable to assume MS decided to have another go at it. |
