Some time ago I wrote an OSIX theme song, and now everyone brave enough to listen can do so.

Some time ago I wrote an OSIX theme song and sent the link to a few fortunate souls. However, I am now making this song available to everyone brave enough to listen. It's available at http://students.washington.edu/skinnerm/music/osix.mp3, in a folder with a whole bunch of other music I've written. The beat is nice and old school sounding, but the vocals are quite sketchy, so if anyone has the free time and motivation they can go right ahead and record their own rendition of this masterpiece. And if you approve of the theme song, or happen to like anything else I've stashed in that location, you can vote for me in a competition I've entered: http://www.neve.eu/nevolution/vote.php?band=375.

"Thank you for your vote."

Done.

It had nothing to do that I was mentioned in the song though ;)
Also, we should store this mp3 locally.

lol - the song is pretty cool - the drum beat reminds of cracktro's - i like :D

Not being horrid - but the singing is scary :o

We should do a collaboration - I'm gonna search you out on IRC

good music , but sometimes it's hard to hear what you are singing . So maybe a little louder would be better .

I tried to vote , but it said i voted already ?

think12: thanks for the vote, and put the song wherever you like.

gisterogue: sounds cool to me, and i'm well aware that my singing is awful, but the evil folks on irc made me do it anyway.

kdemetter: yeah like i said the vocals are horrid, but perhaps i'll post lyrics somewhere (i think i've got them written down). and that's weird about the voting... maybe try again later so they don't get confused about the sudden flood of hits from this referrer.

paranoia good stuff :P can you hook me up with the lyrics and an instrumental version of the track? I'll see if I can come up with something a little sexual - then we can have it playing on the OSIX front page every time you visit

ok maybe not - but still, heh.

instrumental track is floating in that same folder: http://students.washington.edu/skinnerm/music/layering.mp3

lyrics (more or less):
osix net is awesome
i go there way too often
and if you get this song's jokes
then that means you do to

but osix net is awesome
and bb's a dirty crackwhore
don't blame me for that though
cuz think12 made me say it

the goats are neat
the riddles are fun
and codebug's useful
but mostly for spammers

yes osix net is awesome
and we go there way too often
but this is not a problem
because we are the geeks
and we know it

/me notes the named directory on the server. Are you secretly a chav hiding here to get away from the infamy and stress of being "The Streets"?
