Alright boys and girls, as you know OSIX has had a rough ride over the last month or so. Well... Even before that we had speed/storage issues.

Anyways, that is all solved now! bb and I chipped in for a brand spanking new server.

I know you're all interested in the specs, so...

CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.66GHz (2666.76-MHz 686-class CPU)
real memory = 1064497152 (1015 MB)
ad4: 114473MB <ST3120813AS/2AAA> [232581/16/63] at ata2-master SATA150

It's a nice machine compared to the previous (which we were quite graetful for).

I hope to have it setup soon (but we'll see... Real life *cough*). Then we can start getting suggestions on how to use this beast to it's fullest potential (I vote more osidrive storage).

Did you like this article? There are hundreds more.

What was the old box?
bb

old box was fbsd with good network but smallish disk. - although it was starting to stress out with mysql - but that could have been because of the attrocious number of queries on every page.

why is every single referral to this page from people trying looking for su doku solvers?

It could be that the Sodoku article was added after this backup was taken. So it's possible this could have the same article ID as the Sodoku one, and search engines are sending it here.

So everything is working nicely now. I have all the account setup (all of those who donated this year) with passwords generated. I'm just waiting to rebuild the kernel (mainly with quotas) and reboot the box. With any luck I can do it tonight. I'll send a

Lately I've been struggling to get an email solution working for OSIX. We'd love to offer mail accounts that are properly tied into the rewards system. Just as a "thank you" to those who have helped out/donated over the time. Plus, we have a big beefy box
