Very simple tutorial to show you how to make a funky effect using a few tools.

To begin, open any picture that you want to apply this affect to..

1) Duplicate the layer [layer > duplicate layer] in the menu

2) Desaturate the image [Ctrl+Shift+U]

3) Alter the contrast [Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast] you want it so that the greyscale image has contrasting shades so that the final image will stand out.

4) Halftone it [Image > Adjustments > Threshold] choose a level you think is good.

5) Done! [Ctrl+U] and click the colorise button to alter the colour.

or [Select > Color Range] and choose a colour to remove or replace.

Actually, I really like this article. I remember I used to look up hundreds of these - so not only are they in demand, they bring in traffic through searches, and they let people do funky effects. The blue/yellow cat's cool.

those pictures aren't photoshop effects. They are slow motion photo stills of the cat after it sinks it's teeth in to a nice juicy english 240v electric power chord...

can we have a new tutorial to see how to turn chargrilled cat in to African face art? =D

BTW, I used to make similar images as those to put on t-shirts, a little like that guerrera(?) dude everyone seems to love... a short tute, but pretty cool!

Cat is cute and i want to do it as i get some time form my services of managed web hosting services along with the cheap windows web hosting services which are affordable and easy to use if you want some cheap linux hosting services for your home or office then there are many packages available which you can get easily, but your work is also great and i really like it as you have done a great job.
